So. According to this new doctor I’ve been seeing, and I have a feeling she’s right, I am afflicted with the diabetes, hypertension, high LDL cholesterol, obviously I’m overweight and it’s all situated in my midsection because of the diabetes. I’ve already spent three days jabbing myself to check my blood glucose and I can’t understand how it’s always too high. Even when it’s been hours after my last bite of any food. Whatevs. So I’m trying to make changes gradually, starting with all the drugs I’m on, now. I’ll write more after I’ve sorted things out a little more.

  1. *hugs* That’s a lot to deal with all at once.

Let me know if you need to talk/vent/miss me, etc 🙂

  3. Take care getting it under control. I have several family members with diabetes and I know how dangerous it can be.

  4. Just stumbled on your blog, which I love. But about your health: That combination of symptoms can also indicate PCOS, which often goes uncaught. Luckily, one of the good treatments for PCOS is also a good diabetes drug, with the only possibly negative side effect being that it makes you much more fertile and much more likely to get pregnant if you have sex with men, which, you know. If you and your doc haven’t already talked about it, do.

  5. Hey bzzzzgirl, I was diagnosed with PCOS several years ago, but the diabetes is new. I’m sure that both will be helped by this round of drugs!

  6. OK, good. In my case, it took a long time for the PCOS to be diagnosed, and when it was diagnosed, it took a long time for tehm to stumble on this drug for me because I was not trying to get pregnant, and no doctors bothered to ask if I was perhaps queer (or celibate, or asexual, or otherwise unconcerned about getting knocked up). Just keeping an eye out for you. I really do love your blog.
